  • Library Talk: Dr. Bruce MacFadden, Paleontologist, this Wednesday, September 10th, 6:30 PM at the Embudo Valley Library. During the end of the Last Glacial period, about 25,000 years ago, almost three dozen species of now extinct mammals roamed the landscape of what’s now the Dixon region. These included mammoths, mastodons, ground sloths, horses, camels, dire wolves, and saber cats. This talk will illustrate where these mammals came from, how they lived, and what happened to them.
