Nuevo Mexico Profundo is delighted to announce the second phase of a continuing project at the Pueblo of Acoma. The project entails the restoration of two churches—St. Anne in Acomita and Santa Maria de Acoma in McCartys—designed by John Gaw Meem and built by the pueblo during the pastorship of Father Agnellus Lammert. Information is here. On June 14 a Profundo tour will visit these churches; tickets will be available at 8:00 am on May 12. Information is here.
A Memorial Service for Rio Arriba County Sheriff Billy Merrifield will be held on Tuesday evening, April 29, at 6:00 PM at Española Valley High School Gymnasium (1111 El Llano Road, Española).
