• An urgent message from Dixon Animal Protection Society: Stray Hearts shelter in Taos is essentially closed and has been for a good part of the year.  That has created an absolutely overwhelming problem with stray and abandoned animals in Taos.  Rescue groups from Questa to Española are stepping up to help deal with this problem.  At the moment many of us are full and or on overload.  We are now coming into puppy and kittens season, although this year that never stopped.  So here at DAPS, we would like to compile a list of people who might be able to foster puppies or kittens for a couple of weeks at no cost to them - DAPS will cover food, vet care and offer crates.  If you might be able to take in a litter or a few little ones, please email Jeannie at [email protected] or call her at 505-579-4608 and have yourself put on the foster home list.
