• Pile burning in the Peñasco area: Forest Service Crews are planning to continue work on the Rio Trampas Project.  Ignitions are planned for piles from 549 acres of thinning, split up in three units near the following villages: south of Chamisal; southeast of El Valle; and between Trampas and Ojo Sarco on the west side of Hwy. 76.  More information, including a map, is available on the pile burning alert page.
