Sign Up Now for DVFD’s Late Spring Chipping Weekend, May 29th – 31st. The Dixon Volunteer Fire Department, in partnership with Baby Gorilla Tree Service and the International Association of Fire Chiefs, is offering free community chipping to community members reduce fire risk. We’ll be chipping brush across the district Friday–Sunday, May 29th–31st. This service helps reduce burn piles and keeps your property safer. Important information and sign-up link here.
Book Reading in Santa Fe Wednesday, May 20th, 6:00: Local author Kay Matthews will read from her book, Antonio “Ike” DeVargas—Norteño Warrior: The Politcs of Land, Power, and Justice in Northern New Mexico, also Ty Bannerman will read from his book, Nuclear Family, a memoir of the atomic west at Collected Works Book Store. They will open up the reading for input and stories from the public. You can also register to watch on Zoom on the bookstore website.
