  • Earth Friendly Learning Plant Identification and Collection Field Lab at the Rio Embudo this Friday, May 17th, 9:30-noon.  Learn legume family (Fabaceae) identification in lab studio, afterwards.  Minimum donation for lab: $20.  Field lab size limit - 7 people; indoors lab after - 9 people.  By RSVP only: text for attendance to Nancy, 719-849-3239.  NancyJoanBrighid@gmail.com.

  • Worker available for: farm work, yard work, labor, gigs, equine care, house/farm sitting.  Physically and mentally fit, able to work long hours and do continuous repetitive tasks with a positive attitude.  Systematic worker, always aiming to work smart and establish consistent workflow and processes.  Available for 1 or 2 days, 6-16 hours per week.  If it’s a good fit, open to discussing the potential for more.  Please e-mail MelinaLarou[email protected]

  • Rattlesnakes are active: four dogs from Cañoncito were bitten by rattlesnakes on Tuesday.  If you have a dog, that’s bitten, both Salazar and Taos Vet have anti-venom.  If it’s after hours, Roadrunner emergency vet in Algodones is your only choice.  There is a fabulous Facebook group “national snakebite support“ where 24/7 you can post questions and receive online guidance and support.  Click here for the bite protocol they suggest and they take this information with you to the vet.  Often the vet will administer Benadryl and antibiotics.  Neither one is useful.  Neither are steroids.
